Looking back........
June of 1999, my most personal written document concerning life experiences with religion, satanism, and other related topics is released.
As I mentioned on the intro., 112 pages. If I think about how many pages and how small the font was for issue #3/#4, if I would have used the normal font of twelve, replacing my ten, nine, and eight fonts that I used, I would have been able to squeeze at least five issues out of that one. What was I thinking!? Apparantely I wasn't!! But hey, no regrets, right? At least those of you who weren't familiar with the printed format will be able to read the interviews without having to flip back and forth from the page that contained most of the questions to the interviews.
I couldn't keep the spiral bound print going on forever if I wanted to reach a wider audiance, making this my professionally printed debut. I can recall how crazy I went trying to come up with the money (thanks mom!) and how much sleep I lost in order to release this in time for C-Stone 1999 and Milwaukee Metal Festival 1999. Again, what was I thinking wanting to release such a massive issue!? This issue took the longest to put together, actually taking me over a year to release.
The publisher I was using required the magazine as a printed form, not a disc, and were the cheapest in price many of us in the underground 'zinedom world could find. Unfortunately, I felt the quality of the final print reflected the price. Many of the pictures, even on the glossy covers I purchased was lacking the quality.
When I started putting this issue together, I kept thinking to myself what kind of reaction I was going to recieve from the readers. Instead of the negative put-downs I expected, I was thankfully really surprised and happy to hear all the positive feed back from the readers concerning the theme and the questions I had asked some of their favorite bands. Good ol' Mike, always thinking the worst. Is anyone else like this?
